Anita Auerbach

Dr. Auerbach is the Founder/Director of Commonwealth Psychological Associates PLC, located in McLean, Virginia. She was formerly Chief of Psychological Services at the Northern Virginia Training Center, and is a Diplomate of the International Academy of Behavioral Medicine and the American Board of Medical Psychotherapists. Dr. Auerbach has served as an instructor at several area universities and is presently Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychology at George Washington University. She has been a consultant to various community agencies, mental health clinics, hospitals, courts, school systems, group medical practices, corporations, and area sports teams. She has lectured extensively, appeared on national television, and has assisted the media in the development of television programs and articles on mental health topics. Dr. Auerbach is a member of the American Psychological Association, the Virginia Psychological Association, the Virginia Academy of Clinical Psychologists (where she serves on the Executive Council), the Association for the Advancement of Applied Sports Psychology, and the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis, and is also part of the Red Cross Disaster Response Network.
