The David H. Lawson Foundation was organized for charitable and educational purposes to benefit citizens with developmental and/or other intellectual disabilities.

Dr. David Lawson was committed to expanding opportunities and enhancing the quality of life of persons with developmental and/or other intellectual disabilities for over 30 years.

The Foundation is continuing his legacy by supporting programs and initiatives to increase access to quality services.

We envision organizations and individuals working collaboratively and creatively to satisfy the needs and choices of the consumers we are dedicated to supporting.

News Flash!

Grant Award Received to Implement Dental Outreach Clinic!

The Community Foundation for Northern Virginia – Giving Circle of Hope has awarded a grant to the David H. Lawson Foundation in the amount of $6,975.00.  These funds will be used to implement a dental outreach clinic for adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities, who lack access to dental services.  This clinic is scheduled to occur on Friday May 16, 2014.  We aim to provide free dental treatment to 20 patients with ID/DD who have a current substantial need for services.

More information about the outreach clinic will be posted later this winter/spring.  While the grant award will pay for most of the clinic costs, additional needs for supplies exist. For example,  we plan to provide dental “goodie bags” for the patients.  If you would like to make a donation toward this event, please mail your donation to:
